Seeing How the Pros Do It

Today’s class was one of the best that we have had during J Term. The class started off kind of slowly as we waited to get into FOX 2, and had to listen to talk about what interns for another J Term class were doing, but after that the class was quite enjoyable. I enjoyed doing an interview in a professional newsroom with a person who actually works with in the media. I found it funny to see that the newsroom was hectic even at two in the afternoon. I can not imagine how crazy things get around air time!
I had no idea that blogging was so much a part of the television industry. The fact that they news is on television and blogging is on the internet makes me think that the two would be in conflict with each other, but I guess that that is not the case.
Everyone at the station was surprisingly friendly, and the fact that Ed knew everyone made the experience even more fun. My only regret about the trip was that we were unable to talk to any of the sportscasters. I wish that we could have stayed at KTVI for a little while longer so that I could have talked to one of the sports anchors. Even though I did not get to meet any of the sportscasters, the trip did have one big highlight. The highlight of the trip, for me, was doing stand up in front of Fox 2. I realize that I was not doing the standup as a member of the Fox 2 news team, but it kind of made me feel like I was.
